about

The Tramp/A Good Time

Dermod first met Moleskin Joe after spending a miserable night in the cold around Greenock. They travelled together for a couple of days before Joe got him a job as a farm labourer.
A few years later they met again and travelled together through Argyll to Kinlochleven where there was available work as a navvy. Moleskin Joe's favourite saying was “There's a good time comin', though we may never live to see it”.

lyrics

I’ve sailed on ships with sails of fire,
By amber ports, through carmine seas,
And opal-tinted argosies,
To dreamt-of islands of desire.
